Stats and highlights from the Shawlands branch (Jan – Jun 2018)

Now into the 2nd half of 2018, we look back over the performance of the Shawlands branch over the first 6 months.

Analysing all their sales data between 1 January – 30 June 2018, here are some key stats: -

They took an average of just 13.4 days to secure a sale (year end 31 Dec 2017 – 26.9 days).  

Of all properties sold, 73% went to a closing date due to multiple interested parties.

79% of all sales agreed were at a figure higher than the home report value.

£339,218 has been achieved over the home report value for their clients in the first 6 months of 2018. This figure has already surpassed the £298,828 achieved for the whole of 2017.

Director Craig Smith commented “After an exceptional 2017 for the property market in the South Side of Glasgow, the first 6 months of 2018 has exceeded all expectations. The trend of demand outstripping supply, resulting in fierce competition between buyers, has continued. We are now achieving sales for the majority of our clients within a fortnight of going to the market.

From a buying point of view, avoiding a closing date to secure your dream home is unlikely, particularly in the South Side and East Renfrewshire hotspots. It is therefore crucial to be ready to buy, ideally chain free or under offer, with a mortgage decision in principal, making yourself as attractive as possible to the seller. Otherwise, you run the risk of losing out against your competition, even if you are the highest offer.”
